Children’s Mission of the Month: Random Acts of Kindness
This month we will be focusing on ways in which we can be kind. Each week we allocate time for our children to share something about themselves, we have challenged them to use this time to share acts of kindness. Little ways in which they have helped someone or brightened someone’s day. We will be making cards for care bags that will be distributed to home bound members of the church, and we will be working on a kindness project in class.
Sunday March 22nd after the 10:00am service
Parents Meeting: There will be a brief meeting in the classroom after the 10:00 am service to update you on upcoming projects for the rest of the Sunday School year. There will also be an opportunity to share your concerns and answer any questions you may have.
Saturday March 28th 6:30pm-9:30pm
Open Gym Night: Parents need a couple hours to run errands or grab a quick dinner? Bring the kids to our Open Gym Night at Historic Trinity for fun, games and snacks. Bring a friend it will be a blast.
Roots is the Children and Family Ministry Program at Trinity United Methodist Church. Inspired by God’s Word, Colossians 2:7, we pray that the Roots program encourages children and their families to “plant [their] roots in Christ and let Him be the foundation for [their] lives.”
Information about programming:
Roots Ministry offers Sunday School Classes for children entering Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade. The “Buds” (Pre-K to first grade) and “Blossoms” (second to fifth grade) Sunday School classes will explore God’s word and discover his never-ending, amazing love through skits, crafts, snacks, games, songs and more! Lessons are inspired by the Buzz and Deep Blue curriculums. The curriculums chosen are both Bible-based and interactive in order to engage children of all ages, personalities and learning styles. Sunday School classes run during the 10 am. church service. Children can remain with their families/caregiver during the beginning of Sunday Worship and transition down to the Sunday School rooms immediately following the Children’s Moment.
Nursery care for our “Seedlings” (birth to age 3) is also provided on Sunday Mornings from 8:45-11:45 am. Parents can also make use of this care for children (birth to fifth grade) during the 9 am. Adult Sunday School hour.
Roots Ministry also offers monthly family-fun events! Children and their families can look forward to fun-filled field trips, movie nights, holiday celebrations and opportunities for fellowship. Details, dates and times are available on the church calendar, Trinity E-Tiding and monthly Roots newsletter.
